TwitterTwitter has finally closed the last round of funding. Twitter has raised $200m (£128m) in new funds in a deal that values the microblogging platform at $3.7 billion.
Twitter is a free social network and microblogging service that allows its users to transmit and skim communications referred to as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to a hundred and forty character types shown on the author's user profile webpage and sent to the author's readers who are called followers. Senders can control delivery to the people within their circle of buddies or, by default, make it possible for open access. Since late 2009, users can follow listings of authors rather than following individual authors.
