Credit Report or credit History is, in many countries, a record of an individual’s or company’s past borrowing and repaying, including information about late payments and bankruptcy. The term “credit reputation” can either be used synonymous to credit history or to credit score.

Oil Settles Below $60, Biggest Weekly Fall Since January (Bloomberg) — Crude oil fell, heading for its biggest weekly decline since January, on concern the global recession will curb energy consumption and as a stronger dollar reduced demand for commodities. Oil has plunged 10 percent this week on speculation fuel use in the U.S., the biggest energy-using nation, will drop. The greenback has risen 0.8 percent against most major currencies since the beginning of the month.

The future for July and August mortgage rates should take direction from the economic releases this week .  As you can see, we have some big market movers ahead of us:  PPI (Tues) , CPI (Wed) , Jobless Claims (Thur), and Housing Starts (Fri).  Mortgage bond traders will be looking for signs of a strengthening economy, which might hint at future inflation, to sell off bonds thereby increasing mortgage rates.

COMMONWEALTH OF DOMINICA 10 JULY 2009The Monetary Council of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) held its 65th meeting at the Fort Young Hotel in the Commonwealth of Dominica on 10 July 2009, under the chairmanship of the Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Commonwealth of Dominica.The meeting was preceded by a handing-over ceremony to mark the change in chairmanship from the Honourable Harold Lovell, Minister of Finance, Antigua and Barbuda whose tenure of office as chairman had expired.

This information is used by lenders such as credit card companies to determine an individual’s credit worthiness; that is, determining an individual’s willingness to repay a debt. The willingness to repay a debt is indicated by how timely past payments have been made to other lenders. Lenders like to see consumer debt obligations paid on a monthly basis.

There has been much discussion over the accuracy of the data in consumer reports. However, the only scientifically researched studies that include sample sizes large enough to be valid have concluded that by and large the data in credit reports is very accurate. The credit bureaus point to their own study of 52 million credit reports to highlight that the data in reports is very accurate. The Consumer Data Industry Association testified before Congress that less than two percent of those reports that resulted in a consumer dispute had data deleted because it was in error.
