Press Release: Baltimore HUD Homes warns of new mortgage relief scams
Some Baltimore homeowners worried to consider out whether the new mortgage relief plan can aid them have fallen prey to con artists.
Please contact the Baltimore, Maryland field office for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), if any third parties have promised you: they save your home from foreclosure and administer the new mortgage relief for an upfront fee.
Carlos Sagastume Gordillo said with the online website Baltimorehudhomes.com “There are HUD-approved counseling agencies that offer free assistance, and that’s where homeowners should turn”
A record number of Maryland homeowners will face foreclosure this year, according to the latest article from the Mortgage Bankers Association. More than 100,000 homeowners, or 11.1% of Maryland state, have missed mortgage payments or defaulted on their mortgage. “Employment is the problem,” said Jay Brinkmann, chief economist for the MBA. “It’s not a matter with changes in payment reorganization or payment resets.” Baltimore Sun….
