Some have landed at boutique firms or with competitors who are taking the opportunity to upgrade talent. Many others are still looking for their next job but a few have made the transition to a new industry and role, creating the kind of life for themselves and their families that may not have been allowed by the all-consuming 24/7 world of Wall Street.

In recent months, those who have been studying Guantánamo closely have come to the disturbing conclusion that the biggest obstacle to President Obama’s pledge to close Guantánamo by January 2010 comes not from the fearmongering and opportunistic politicians who recently voted to prohibit the use of any funds to release or to transfer prisoners to the United States, and who also authorized legislation that “requires the President to report periodically to Congress on the status of Guantánamo Bay detainees and plans for their transfer,” but from the administration’s own Justice Department.

Adult day care provides a caring and safe setting for adults within a social model program. Programs are structured and designed, often through the development of a personal care plan, to cover the daily individual needs of each participant, including a variety of social and supportive services. Participants may be physically, mentally or functionally impaired, or they may simply need companionship or supervision during part of the day. Adult day care is based around the participant’s social needs.

INROADS, the country’s premier internship organization for students of color sponsored the 2009 National Day of Service in more than 40 communities across the country. INROADS   More than 2,000 INROADS Interns participated in the one-day event designed to build their leadership skills, while simultaneously serving their communities. Interns across the country were involved in all aspects of planning, coordination and execution of their local National Day events.

If you answered “yes”, then you are a certified caregiver. Many people don’t think of themselves as “caregivers” unless if they help their loved ones with activities of daily living (ADLs). However, these people are caregivers. Caregivers are referred to as family caregivers when they are related to the individual to whom they provide senior care .
