One of the dirty little Baltimore secrets that the Wire made public (besides the B&O Tavern) is our sad overabundance of vacant row homes. Everywhere we look in this city there’s another form stone beauty boarded up with plywood, sealed shut with cinder blocks. It’s too bad, because a lot of these houses are lovely buildings, replete with front porches, bay windows and brick. And we’re not sure if there’s one, all-encompassing solution for a problem as widespread as Baltimore’s.
