Palins High Stakes Night Just a month ago, Sarah Palin's trademarks were spunk, lipstick and the appealing persona of a hockey mom juggling career and family with confidence and good humor.

Which Palin shows up on the stage at Washington University in St. Louis tonight likely will determine the Alaska governor's future. Much focus rightly is on whether she will be a drag on John McCain's chances of winning the presidency, but as much should be on the question of what kind of future she may have in the Republican Party.
