Foreclosures Fort Wayne area normalizing, So what’s happening with foreclosures in the Fort Wayne area?

New filings are down from the peak years and prices are up, according to a report complied by the Upstate Alliance of Realtors. The Fort Wayne group tracks properties in Adams, Allen, Huntington, Jay, Wells and Whitley counties.

In the second quarter of 2014, there were 242 new foreclosures, the report says. While traditional new listings were up nearly 12 percent, foreclosures were down 37.3 percent from last year’s second quarter. In this year’s second quarter, foreclosures made up only 7 percent of homes listed with area Realtors, compared with about 9 percent in 2013 and 12 percent in 2012.
