Tallahassee Fewer Foreclosures Than Florida Average, According to a report by WCTV in Tallahassee, Fla., despite the number of Florida’s foreclosures dropping by 30 percent, the state still faces the largest number across the nation.
Florida is still experiencing a challenging real estate market. Research firm RealityTrac found that 1 in 469 homes in the state had a foreclosure filing last July, two-and-a-half times the national rate. Along with high statewide rates, 80 percent of the nation’s foreclosures during the same month were in Florida cities, including Port St. Lucie, Orlando, Fort Myers, the Space Coast, Tampa, Lakeland and Ocala.
